Not too long ago I just got back from my holiday shopping. If it hadn't snowed so much, and if a turkey wasn't in the oven, then my mom and I could have gone up to the mall across the bridge, miles away from home where I type. Or even the Best Buy over at St. Mary's County.
So, no new anime or manga (or comics) for me yet. Maybe by the spring of next year, I'll have a chance to fulfill the wish list. Or possibly by my birthday next month? I really,
really would like to own the first season of Darker Than BLACK. ...I
refuse to let myself feel a little disappointment.
Anyway, I got some cool stuff at a couple of the local stores. At K-Mart I found some of the CDs I wanted--Foo Fighters Greatest Hits CD with the 3 Unreleased for Record tracks, Evanescence's
The Open Door to which I've been unable to find for a very long time until today, and the motion picture soundtrack for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. (I like that new Linkin Park song, and
Staind is on there too. It's been a while since I've heard anything new by them.) I also got some new PJ's and slipper socks. I haven't listened to any of my new CDs yet, but maybe later on I will.
At Gamestop I finally bought the second Kingdom Hearts game. I might as well play that, now that I've beaten the first at least once. I also got Area 51 (rented that one once, and I think my mom and I enjoyed it) and Trivial Pursuit. Once at a friend's party, my mom and I played that game together in a group and had a good time with that. I also renewed my Gamestop membership so I can get more Game Informer mags in the mail.
Before all of that, my mom and I stopped by the local Mattress Warehouse. We found a mattress for my room for a fairly decent price, lower than the prices I've seen online. My chance to buy one then ask a friend to help bring it over to my place may have to be another week though. It feels nice enough, surely much better than the one I have that's started to fall apart.
Even before that, my mom got a few excellent DVDs from the Movie Gallery she works at--the
early gifts. The new Star Trek, Aliens in the Attic (in which I watched again today--SO FUNNY), and the other I can't remember by memory right now.
Christmas isn't over for me just yet though. There might be some surprises for tomorrow, and on Saturday, my family and I will go to the movies and see Avatar. It looks cool.
Don't get me wrong. I know what Christmas is all about. I've been having a nice relaxing time with my family. I'm just writing to unload and communicate to those I know through LJ.
( Everything non Christmas related goes here. )
